Come and meet your new State Representative, Mark Sylvia—a neighbor who grew up right here on the SouthCoast, raised his family here, and has spent his career working to make our communities stronger, more affordable, and more sustainable.

Deep Local Roots: A lifelong resident of Fairhaven, he has raised his family in the district and brings a strong connection to the communities he represents.
Public & Private Sector Experience: Over 25 years of leadership in state and municipal government, including service under Governor Deval Patrick, and nearly a decade in the clean energy sector as Chief of Staff at BlueWave, a B Corp focused on sustainability.
Commitment to Affordability: Advocates for controlling costs for families, expanding access to affordable housing, and making healthcare more accessible.
Environmental Leadership: Serves on the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources and the House Committee on Climate Action and Sustainability, advancing policies to protect natural resources and address climate change.
Inclusive Representation: Active in caucuses that reflect the district’s diversity and needs, including the Portuguese Heritage Caucus, Coastal Caucus, Food Security Caucus, and Gateway Cities Caucus.
