Congratulations, Courtney Henderson! Recipient of the MassVOTE 2026 Catalyst for Democracy
The League of Women Voters SouthCoast extends heartfelt congratulations and deep gratitude to SouthCoast member Courtney Henderson for being honored by MassVOTE as a 2026 Catalyst for Democracy! This well-deserved recognition celebrates Courtney’s unwavering commitment to democracy, voting rights, civic engagement, and building a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
Through her work with the League of Women Voters, her service as Somerville City Clerk, and her leadership with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority and the Brockton Area NAACP, Courtney exemplifies what it means to be a catalyst for meaningful change.
Throughout her term with the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts (LWVMA), Courtney has been an instrumental leader and champion for progress. She has led the League’s DEI initiatives, advised on the Gateway Cities Initiative, and co-led the League through the early stages of LWVMA v. Trump. Her vision, courage, and dedication continue to help move the League toward its rightful place as a 21st-century, grassroots voting rights organization—one that meets the moment, elevates community voices, and fights for a democracy that works for everyone.
Courtney, thank you for your leadership, your service, and your steadfast commitment to the values that strengthen our democracy. Your impact reaches far beyond the organizations you serve, inspiring others to lead with purpose, advocate with conviction, and remain committed to the ongoing work of building a more just and representative democracy.
The League of Women Voters SouthCoast is so proud of you, Courtney! We celebrate this incredible honor and are grateful for all you continue to contribute to the League and the communities you serve. May this recognition acknowledge your work, your leadership, and how your dedication inspires us all.
Congratulations on this extraordinary and well-earned achievement!
